Safety on board the boats
Excursions Maritimes Québec is a responsible and safe company. Our vessels and pilots are certified according to current national and provincial norms, regulations, and laws.
- Safety standards: Our internal safety standards exceed those of Transport Canada.
- Safety equipment: Each passenger must wear a certified life jacket provided by Excursions Maritimes Québec. All necessary safety equipment is on board, and we have several effective means of communication.
- Boat maintenance: Each boat is inspected daily and before each excursion to ensure your safety.
Pricing, cancellation, and refund policy
- Rates: All prices for our activities are in Canadian dollars before taxes. Tips are welcome.
- Cancellation:
- More than 48 hours in advance: Cancellation by email.
- Less than 48 hours in advance: Cancellation by phone.
- Cancellation fees:
- Less than 48 hours: 50% of the total amount.
- Less than 24 hours: 100% of the total amount.
- Flexibility: We are slightly flexible; the sooner you inform us, the better.
- Changes: Rates (in case of a sudden increase in fuel prices) and the itinerary may be modified without prior notice.
- Restrictions: The captain reserves the right to refuse boarding to individuals under the influence of alcohol or drugs, pregnant women, people suffering from chronic back pain, and children weighing less than 40 pounds (18 kg).
- Boarding time: Passengers must arrive at least 15 minutes before departure. Excursions depart at the scheduled time.
Sales policy
By purchasing an excursion, the passenger acknowledges and accepts that the cruise offered by Excursions Maritimes Québec involves certain risks of injury and equipment damage related to navigation and weather conditions.
- Assumption of risks: The passenger assumes all risks of loss, injury, or damage to person or property occurring at any time on board the vessel and during the cruise, including during embarkation and disembarkation.
- Waiver: The passenger waives any claims against Excursions Maritimes Québec, its captains, guide-interpreters, and partners for any damages that may occur during the excursion.
- Cancellation by the company: In case of cancellation of the excursion by Excursions Maritimes Québec due to force majeure, or because conducting the cruise would be unsafe, illegal, or impossible, the company’s liability is limited to the refund of excursions already paid.
- Delays: Excursions Maritimes Québec assumes no responsibility for inconveniences caused by delays.
- Responsibility of adults: Adults are responsible at all times for the supervision and behavior of children traveling with them, both on the vessel and at embarkation and disembarkation points.
- Animals: Animals are not accepted on board.
FAQ
Q: Do we need to plan special clothing?
A: Dress according to the weather. We do not lend equipment. Disposable ponchos will be available for sale on board if necessary.
Q: Is parking included?
A: Yes and no, depending on the boarding station. Details will be provided during the reservation.
Q: If I cannot attend my cruise, can I be refunded? If not, can I postpone my departure to a later date?
A: Yes, if you inform us more than 48 hours in advance, a refund is possible. Otherwise, we prefer to reschedule the activity—we appreciate your understanding!
